Simultaneous and Successive Bilingual Language Acquisition

DUFDE (Deutsch und Französisch - Doppelter Erstspracherwerb)

Description: Video recordings (longitudinal study) of seven French-German bilingual children aged between 1 year;6 months and 6 years;11 months (+ some later recordings).

Languages: German and French, recorded separately.

Conventions/Format: Transcribed and annotated using the project's conventions in dBase (partly entered with the dBase application LAPSUS), subsequently converted to the EXMARaLDA format.

Size: Approx. 800 30-minute-long recordings, 849 transcriptions, approx. 1.000.000 transcribed word (child and interviewer).

Status: Editing completed in June 2009.

Access: Transcriptions can be used for research purposes after demanding approval through Prof. Dr. Jürgen M. Meisel in written form.

BIPODE (Bilingual Portugiesisch-Deutsch)

Description: Video recordings (longitudinal study) of three Portuguese-German bilingual children aged between 1 year;6 months and 5 years;6 months.

Languages: German and Portuguese, recorded separately.

Conventions/Format: Transcribed and annotated using the project's conventions in dBase (partly entered with the dBase application LAPSUS), subsequently converted to the EXMARaLDA format.

Size: Approx. 450 30-minute-long recordings, 227 transcriptions, approx. 200.000 transcribed words (child and interviewer).

Status: Editing completed in June 2009.

Access: Transcriptions can be used for research purposes after demanding approval through Prof. Dr. Jürgen M. Meisel in written form.
